Flex Wiki Home
No. A bug report only gets reviewed by the development team once it receives support (votes) from others in the community.
See how Voting on existing bugs works.
I entered my bug report - but it doesn't show up in the search list.
Almost all bugs are searchable in the system immediately after entry. The are two classes of bugs however (suspected security vulnerabilities and Flex Builder licensing bugs) that are "hidden" by default immediately after entry. These bugs will go into an internal review queue first and an authorized developer on the project will determine if it is OK to be marked public.
My Bug is marked: Moved to External System - What happens now?
This typically means that someone determined that your bug report, while valid, is really a bug in a related technology that is not tracked in this system (i.e., the Adobe Flash Player or the Adobe Integrated Runtime). In some other cases, this may mean that the bug you reported is really a bug of an web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer or Firefox).
Your bug was either moved to a separate internal system at at Adobe - or referred to the appropriate browser's bug system (if available). Once a bug is moved to an external system, you will not be able to track further updates on the bug through this system.
Who can edit this wiki?
Users with project committer access in either the Flex or ActionScript compiler projects can edit this wiki.
See Why are some bugs missing information.
What do the acronyms in bug reports stand for?
Acronyms may appear in comments from time to time:
ECR: Enhancement Change Request
FOL: Fact Of Life
NAB: Not A Bug
PFR: Pending Further Review
QRB/IRB: Quality Review Board/Internal Review Board
UTR: Unable To Reproduce
What's the deal with deferred bugs?
- When the resolution is Deferred, that means the bug may be fixed in the future.
- A status of Closed with a resolution of Deferred simply means that QE has taken note of the deferral.
- Bugs which Adobe has no intention of fixing will have a different resolution, such as Retired, instead of Deferred.
- If you submit a patch for a bug, it is less likely to be deferred. We make no promises, but it is definitely less likely. (hint hint...)
- Anyone can "watch" a bug, which means email will get sent as comments or other changes are made.
- QEs make a special effort to watch closed bugs to receive comments on them.
