Why are some bugs missing information

Flex Wiki Home

Occasionally, I run into a message like the one below in a bug report - what does this mean? Why is some information missing?

This is usually a message associated with older bugs in the system. When our team switched over to JIRA, we decided to import thousands of older bug reports. It was impractical to review every single historical report to make sure that it was appropriate for the world to view (Someone on our team may have mentioned something about Flex behavior in connection with a customer's private project - or frankly things that we're not allowed to share outside of Adobe) Our engineering team is trained better going forward - so you won't find new bug reports with this message.

The information for these older bugs is still available, but the steps to reproduce and historical comments are private by default. (only visible to project committers)

We are continuing to review several of the older bug reports, and will occasionally mark blocks of older bugs public as we get a chance to manually review their contents.

To request that a particular historical bug report moves up in priority on our review list, you can click the link in the Steps to Reproduce box to request review. We don't have a process setup to respond personally to every e-mail - but check back in the system occassionally - and you might find that your issue of interest has been reviewed - with the historical information turned public (visible).
