This is not resolved. It' s happening to me too, with the release version. FB-11973 is another version of the same bug.

I am experiencing this issue as well.
A co-worker installed the same version on her machine and is able to reproduce very easily by opening any mxml in design view.

The version that we downloaded is from ...

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=flex3email

The name of the file is "FB3_win.exe" (435, 172kb)

It was downloaded and installed on this day.

i experienced this exact same bug right now. i installed the newest driver for my video card, and still the flex builder crashes when switching to the "design" mode.

here some more info:

Windows XP
NVIDIA Geforce Go 7300

error is in gdiplus.dll+0x2045a

so - i disabled the preference:

Flex - Editors - Design Mode - Automatically show design-related views

so no crash does happen anymore - when switching to design mode!
