If FlexBuilder supported code and comment Templates the way the Eclipse Java editor does, that would be idea.
templates would work but snippets (ala cfecplise ) would even be better!
This would be incredibly useful for teams of developers too.
Agreed. Templating and snippets are a real gain for any development team, and is one of the only remaining key features that separates Flex Builder and FDT.
It would be nice to have directives like ${className}, ${package}, etc. This way they could be selected when you create a new file.
I see this as a crucial feature and can't figure out why it was removed.
Flexbuilder 1.5 had it. Flexbuilder 1.5 came with a ~$15K price tag though. I have wasted at least 6 hours trying to find workarounds to get this functionality for flex development. Please bring this feature back. It really makes quite a difference for people who work with frameworks like PureMVC. As already mentioned, it's one of the few things giving FDT the edge over Flex Builder.
Code templates are really needed. <I hate the opening curly brace to be placed on the next line>
I would love templates, and yes, something similar to what cfeclipse or WST snippets provides would be nice. Also, with templates I probably wouldn't have so many people telling me they can't get WST snippets to work with Flex Builder. ;-)
How did this basic feature not make it into Flex Builder? There are probably 100 other included features that are frivolous compared to this.
yeah it would be really helpful if these features like code formatting, template generation and code refactoring is included in the next version of Flex Builder. The current refactoring is totally not working.
seriously needed, please add this feature.
voted for this feature!!
would be great to have, would've used it all day today! Yes, I agree! We need this. This would also be a major time saver when building new classes and controls.
After seeing the latest build of Gumbo, can we be clear that "template" should really be "templates" - The ability to have more than one template for each file-type is what we're looking for here.
Code templates / snippets like in FDT seem indispensable to me
Looks like this feature made into Flash Builder 4. Preferences->Flash Builder->File Templates.
