I agree with Mr. Mezzalira on this one. I would love to see this feature added to FB.
I think the idea is nice, but until Flash Lite content can be created with Actionscript 3 code, this is very unlikely to happen. Considering that Flex Builder cannot compile AS 2 code, it would be a step backwards to try and change it to work with an outdated code model.
Now, if you are saying that Flash Lite 4+ should use Actionscript 3, then I'm all for it, and compiling from inside FB would be great. I'm sure Adobe is working towards this, especially since we know they want to put AIR on mobile devices. Go Adobe! I'm no totally agree with you.
You know when you work with mobile you can't take in consideration only last devices place in the market but you must work with FL player that is more delivered until now. So when AS3 in integrated in FL you must take in consideration that you'll wait 6-9 months that devices are in the market. I think that it could be a great opportunity NOW work on Flash Lite with Flex Builder, isn't it? Flex IDE option to build and test Flashlite (of course in a Flashlite version with engine that processes ActionScript 3). This would be an important tool for real development for devices! Until then, I prototype in Flex/AS3 and then deliver the prototype as a spec to Flashlite/AS2 developers. Sad.
At least going forward with new versions of Flash Lite, I agree that it would be wonderful to have the ability to create and debug a Flash Lite project from within Flex Builder.
I am one of a few people in my company developing a light ERP/CRM system for everyone in the company (as well as customers) to use. It would really be nice to build all client-side utilities from the same tool (Flex Builder with a CVS repository), instead of managing Flash projects separately. I would love to create mobile content with Flex
I just cannot imagine a pocket pc without capabilities of a Flex application! It will be great to see my Flex3 application running on a pocket PC.
