Too many instances of sound playing flashes with the netscape player plugin cause sound to stop working at all

Created: 05/04/08 08:44 PM   Updated: 06/11/08 12:43 PM
Component/s: Sound Playback
Security Level: Public (All JIRA Users )

Severity: Incorrectly Functioning
Reproducibility: Every Time
Discoverability: High
Found in Version: Flash Player 9 - 9_0_124_0
Affected OS(s): Windows - XP
Steps to Reproduce:
Steps to reproduce:
1.open up firefox with the netscape plugin api installed
2.go to any flash video website(with videos with sound, such as youtube)
3.open a multiple(more than a dozen roughly?) flash instances of video players

 Actual Results:
Notice that none of the video will play correctly anymore, and that all sound is gone from flash, until the browser is restarted and everything reinstantiated.

Yup, sounds like yet another duplicate of my bug FP-211 :
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-211

and Drew's bug, FP-208 :
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-208

Good to know it's not just MP3 files. And the cutoff point is slightly higher than a dozen, it's somewhere between 14-16.

Also, it's only with Flash plugin versions 115 and 124, only on Windows, only on non-IE browsers (but it's on *all* non-IE browsers, not just firefox).

Hey, let's all vote for each other's bugs and maybe Edwin will push it up the food chain to get looked at, eh?

It seems the 10.x flash beta fixes this issue, at least it seems to here.

Agreed, it seems the beta of flash player plugin version 10 fixes the problem for me.

Flash 10 beta can be downloaded here:
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/

To the person who originally posted this bug, does the version 10 plugin fix your problem?

Paul-Kenji Cahier - [05/21/08 10:40 AM ]
That was me:) And yes it does as I said:)
