Workaround (if any):
We actually ran across a very strange semi-workaround. I say semi, since we gave up yesterday and went home before finalizing.
We were curious if just the number of mp3 players was the issue, or was it the number of Flash items in general. Therefore, we swapped out 5 of the mp3 players (to get the number around 15) and then put 5 mini versions of the top banner in place of the mp3 players. We found that the other mp3s played only when the banner was transitioning. That is especially strange, since that is when the most cpu is being used. We next went online to find a Flash object that was constantly moving. We ran across a football banner that had a lot of motion and video, linked to it on the same page as the mp3 players, and they all worked perfectly. How odd is that? Adding an additional swf that is very cpu intensive caused to page to function normally.
Our goal now is to create a swf with the right kind of movement, or possibly add a small flv that is transparent and has no sound.
Drew, I can't get http://www.paragonmediastrategies.com/ to load at the moment, so I can't check, but is it possible that you might be running into this bug?
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-211
The critical tipping-over factor is the *number* of MP3 player buttons you have on the page, combined with Flash 9, build 115 or 124, on Firefox only (IE doesn't have the issue). Read that linked bug
FP-211to see if you're dealing with the same thing maybe?
